Gracie
This little sweetie is Gracie (originally Lucky) who was in the New Spirit program before and was placed but is coming back to us due to allergies in a member of the household.  She's 5-6 years old, with gorgeous, atypicalblue merle markings, and lots of fun to have around.

Gracie is fostered in CT.  Apply here   NS 228
Rose
This stunning girl is ready to hit the runway in New York!  Can she work the camera or what?

Rose is 9 yrs old and about 55 pounds, friendly and calm in the house.  She can be crated but is fine left loose when you're away.  Rose pulls on leash a little but nothing too extreme, and it's probably because she loves to go for a walk!
She rides well in a car.  But most of all, you should know that Rose loves food!   She will clean your counters of any unwanted (and wanted!) items, so she'll force her new person to keep a neat kitchen one way or the other :)

This girl has personality plus and does fine with other dogs.  She loves to play with toys and balls and certainly doesn't act her age.  She’s a real doll and deserves a great forever home!

Rose is fostered in central NY.  Apply here   NS 373
Dempsey
Dempsey was recently placed and adored by his adopters. They are heartbroken that they cannot keep him but he was way too intent on chasing the adopters’ cats.  They were unable to even divert his attention, so back he comes.

Dempsey is a lean 45 pounds, 3 years old, and ready for a new home without cats.  He is an active, fun dog who would love to go running with you, play ball, go to the dog park: anything fun and active, Dempsey's your boy!  He loves toys and fetches, even playing by himself.  You can get down on the floor and rough house with him and he loves it, but when playtime is over, he wants to snuggle and cuddle so Dempsey has it all going on.

Dempsey is fostered in Northern VA.  Apply hereNS 253
Mauka aka "Taz"
This handsome boy is a fun young dog about 2, very friendly and outgoing with people.  See that smile?  Taz is one of the happiest dogs you will ever meet.  He’s just so happy to chase the ball (and return it), happy to chase a stick (but not so happy to return it, though happy to chew it), happy to go for walks, happy to ride in the car, and happy to be petted and scratched.  He would be really happy to have a home of his own, where his people will enjoy the fun with him.  Taz is always eager to do anything with you.  He is very curious about the world and would probably be good at any kind of dog sport, or be a great running or walking partner.  He does pull on the leash, but settles down when a gentle leader is used.  He has lots of energy but also settles well in a crate or in the house.  Because of his eagerness to explore and find out about the world, he needs physical fence if left outdoors.  Invisible fence worked for a while but then his curiosity got the better of him and he decided to take the "hit" to leave the yard.  Taz gets along well with other dogs, coming on with intensity wanting to play, but asks nicely and will back off if he gets a "no."  Taz was first fostered in a home with cats and was curious about them but did not chase.  He gets along great with kids, since they like playing ball too!

Taz is fostered in  southern NY state.   Apply here     NS 215
Trixie
This sweet Aussie mix, about 30 pounds, has a tail and pretty speckled markings on her body.  She is about 3 yrs old and has a wonderful personality.  Trixie was surrendered by her owner for landlord issues.  She's positive for heartworms so she'll be treated and available for adoption in late April.

She gets along great with the other dogs in her foster home and loves the snow!

Trixie is fostered in Central NJ.  Apply here     NS 039
Tango
Tango is a sweet 18 month old black bi boy, 38 pounds, good with cats and other dogs.  He's heartworm positive, so we'll be getting that treated and he'll be available in late April

Tango is fostered in Central NJ.  Apply here     NS 446
Bodie is 3 yr old red merle male who's a little on the tubby side, turned in by a breeder going out of business.  He hasn't seen a lot of the world outside a kennel run but warms up well and will blossom with some socializing.  Does okay with cats and loves kids and adult men and women.  Bodie will be fostered in Southeastern NJ (near Philadelphia).  NS 381

Sampson
This dark blue merle boy is only 15 months old and still working on growing up.  He's a little shy but really loves people, especially women, and once he relaxes with you, he's a total snugglebug.  But anyone he doesn't know, he will only warm up to gradually and will quietly avoid till then.

He gets along great with other dogs and loves to play with them, and they give him confidence so we'd like him to go to a home with at least one other dog.

Sampson walks well on a loose leash and loves to ride in the car.

Sampson is fostered in Central NY.    Apply here     NS 359
Char-Char is a wonderful young lady approaching middle age.  She is probably somewhere between 7 and 9 years old but still has a playful nature and plenty of spring in her step.  She loves to go for walks and behaves nicely on leash.  This girl likes to snuggle but is content just to be in the vicinity of 'her
person".  Char-Char  appears to get along well with both dogs and cats but has not yet been tried off leash around cats.  While she probably could use some basic obedience lessons, she does know "sit" and is well behaved in general.   She'll be fostered on the Eastern Shore of MD NS 388
Apollo was pulled from Morgan County, KY shelter the day before he was to be put down. He is a great guy about 2 years old and weighing approx. 45lb.  He'll be fostered in SE PA  NS 387
Daisy Mae
Daisy Mae is an awesome little girl at 2 years old and 35 pounds.  She came in shell shocked but warmed up fast and learns even faster.  She had no idea of basic obedience but taught herself to sit when she saw the others dogs do it when treats were being distributed.  This is a sweet, sharp little girl.

Daisy Mae is an exceptional dog with great potential.  We're looking for an adopter who will be committed to bringing out all that Daisy Mae is capable of being.  You will be amply rewarded for every minute you put into working with this dog.  She would be a great candidate for agility, Rally-O, flyball, competitive obedience, and is likely to pass an instinct test with flying colors while still being completely responsive to her handler.

Daisy is crate trained and housetrained, and does well with other dogs and also cats.

Daisy Mae is fostered in SE PA    Apply here   NS 332
Millie is approximately 3 years old, no tail, and recently had pups but no longer producing milk so likely the pups were weaned and sold.  She was picked up stray at a livestock austion by Animal Control.  Millie is well behaved and good on a leash. She will be fostered in Central PA.  NS 383
